I’m moderating a shopping search panel for SDForum next Tuesday night, February 13 @ 6pm. The even is hosted by Yahoo! and will feature Chris Saito from Yahoo! Shopping, Neil Mayle from Dotted Pair, Siva Kumar from TheFind and David Weinrot from Shopzilla.
This lively discussion about shopping search will cover:
-data feeds v. crawling
-revenue models (affiliate, cpc, shopping.com syndication, adsense, ysm, graphical ads, etc.). how is relevancy impacted by the revenue model…and how is the revenue model impacted by relevancy?
-is 2007 the year to focus on ‘what to buy’ not just ‘where to buy’ and ‘how much to pay’?
-the future of shopping search
-and anything else that the audience is interested in…
You can find out more about the event and register at SDForum. Would love to see attendees from the many shopping engines (NexTag, Become, Shopping.com, Like.com, etc.), retailers, bloggers, and VCs in the area.
Hi Brian,
Looks interesting, but I am unforyunately not able to make it.
Interesting Topics to discuss would be Faceted Navigation, since it goes nicely with the recent Froogle related changes to the Google Base Feed.

We talked at the Affiliate Summit briefly about it. Product matching for price comparison. Methods of matching the same product at different merchants in an automated fashion.
There will probably be no Webcast of the event for online (re)viewing I presume. I did not see anything like that at the SDForum Website. Too sad, would be nice. Charging $15 for access (same as admission fee to the physical event) would also be a no-brainer.
Cheers!
Carsten
Sounds interesting… will there be a log or perhaps video available afterwards?
