		<description>As someone who&#039;s recently left a comparison shopping site, and someone who&#039;s pretty well qualified for your dev position, I&#039;d encourage you to avoid going with Perl unless you&#039;re already pretty far into the project. It is next to impossible to find good Perl people anymore, and we were being held up in our development efforts by our inability to hire anybody. I&#039;m switching to a new platform in an effort not to be &quot;that Perl guy&quot; in 10 years, when the only Perl jobs around are maintaining legacy systems. Java, PHP, C#, even Ruby on Rails may be better choices.

(That said, it&#039;s hard to find coders for _any_ platform at the moment... at least good ones.)</description>
