It is next to impossible to find good Perl people anymore, and we were being held up in our development efforts by our inability to hire anybody. I'm switching to a new platform in an effort not to be "that Perl guy" in 10 years, when the only Perl jobs around are maintaining legacy systems. Java, PHP, C#, even Ruby on Rails may be better choices. (That said, it's hard to find coders for _any_ platform at the moment... at least good ones.)
