Akamai Net Usage Index – Never seen this before.  Have to investigate further.  From the site “The Net Usage Index for Retail enables users to monitor the world’s online retail habits 24 x 7, providing real-time insight into the trend of consumers increasing their share of spending on the Web.”

Cyber Monday Traffic Better than Last Year (ZDNet – 12/1) “This year, the traffic peaked around 3 p.m. ET, with 6.7 million global visitors per minute – a 46 percent jump over the peak of 4.6 million on Cyber Monday last year. Today’s peak traffic also exceeded Black Friday’s peak of 5.9 million and Sunday’s 6.5 million.”

Cyber Monday Outages Hit Dell, Victoria’s Secret (PCMag.com – 12/1) “Gomez.com, one of the many analysts sites tracking Web-site uptime, reported that Dell, Victoria’s Secret and Williams-Sonoma’s websites all experienced issues during the morning of Cyber Monday.”

Akamai: Cyber Monday is off to a promising start (Boston.com – 12/1) “…online visits to Akamai retail customer sites had already surpassed 2007′s Cyber Monday peak of 4.6 million visitors per minute…”
