Yahoo Shopping has been a decent engine for us, much stronger than MSN Shopping ever was. I don't think it hurts to keep them separate for a while and see how the dust settles. Cashback is gaining steam but I still think it's got room to grow and improve from a process perspective as it's confusing and some don't see it as trustworthy... time will tell!

Yahoo's paid inclusion program Search Submit Pro (SSP - formerly Inktomi) is also up on the air. Since there will no longer be a freestanding Yahoo index, how can one pay to be included in it?

Another interesting aspect to this is that some portion of the search functionality on Yahoo! Shopping may be powered by technology from Yahoo! Search... IP that Microsoft is acquiring. If Yahoo! keeps Yahoo! Shopping, but sells the technology that powers certain aspects of Shopping search, do they need to build a new search backend for Shopping, Local, Flickr, and other properties that might rely on Yahoo! Search technology to power their vertical search?
